By learning to play african drum-rhythms I got to know the power of reiteration. African musicians don’t have a problem playing the same pattern for a long period of time. I learned to love this way of making music and I try to apply it in my music.

The Backporch Stringband has been playing for about 25 years. We were averted by the Dragseth Duo to join them on their CD “songs from the porch”. We had a great time with lots of music and we recorded not only one but 2 CDs. CDs are still available in Husum (Germany) at Atelier Knortz.
